Special requirements

• Clean, Oxygenated Water

  Native to moderate/fast-flowing streams. High water quality and dissolved oxygen levels are mandatory for this species to thrive.

• Vegetable Matter Diet

  While omnivorous, they require regular vegetable matter (Spirulina). High-protein diets should be avoided to prevent digestive issues.

• Breeding Territory

  Though peaceful, they are territorial when breeding. Provide caves or flat rocks. In small tanks, a pair may require the removal of other conspecifics.
