Special requirements

• Water Flow

  Requires strong water current and oxygen-rich water to facilitate filter feeding. Use of a submersible pump or powerhead is highly recommended.

• Feeding Method

  As filter feeders, they require very fine floating foods such as algae powder, daphnia, or specialized invertebrate liquid foods delivered into the current.

• Shelter

  Needs plenty of hiding places such as rocks and logs to seek shelter during daylight hours, as they are primarily active at twilight and night.
