• Oxygenation & Flow

  Native to swiftly flowing Costa Rican streams. High dissolved oxygen levels and moderate water movement are essential.

• Breeding Cave

  Requires a cave or cave-like structure for spawning. Both parents become highly aggressive when guarding the site.

• Dietary Fiber

  Needs a balanced diet including vegetable matter (Spirulina, peas, or blanched greens) to maintain digestive health.
