Special requirements

• Group Living

  Should be kept in groups of at least 4–6 individuals to reduce stress and promote natural schooling behavior.

• Soft Substrate

  Fine sand is recommended to protect sensitive barbels during feeding.

• Stable Water Conditions

  Requires clean, stable water and should not be added to newly established aquariums.

• Shelter and Cover

  Provide plants, driftwood, or hiding spaces to mimic natural habitat and provide security.

• Varied Diet

  Feed a mix of sinking foods along with live or frozen options such as bloodworms and Tubifex.

• Moderate Tank Size

  Requires a medium-sized aquarium with sufficient floor space due to active bottom-dwelling behavior.
