Special requirements

  • Copper Sensitivity

Like all invertebrates, they are highly sensitive to copper. Copper-based medications should never be used in the aquarium.

  • Predation Risk

Do not house with loaches, puffers, and other larger carnivores that will feed on small invertebrates.

  • Planted Environment

Thrives in planted aquariums where food (biofilm and algae) and shelter are abundant.

  • Filter Protection

If breeding, keep them in an aquarium with a sponge filter to maximize the survival rate of the miniature young shrimp.
