Special requirements

• Shallow Blackwater Habitat

  Native to extremely shallow blackwater streams (10-50 cm depth). A setup with a large footprint, relatively shallow water, and acidic conditions (pH 4.0-7.0) is highly recommended.

• Leaf Litter Substrate

  In the wild, they are usually found in a thick layer of dead leaves covering the bottom of the bank side. Provide a soft substrate heavily littered with dried botanicals to mimic this environment.

• Dietary Greens

  Naturally feeds on small invertebrates alongside algae and detritus. Their diet should be supplemented with high-quality dried foods containing plant or algal content.
