Special requirements

• Head Growth Development

  Stable, clean water and a balanced diet are required to enhance the development of the 'hood' or head-growth, which can take up to two years to fully develop.

• Dietary Protein Control

  Limit protein intake to 30% of the diet to provide proper nutrition via specialized goldfish flakes or pellets.

• Substrate Management

  Prefers fine gravel or rounded river rocks. As active diggers, they may scatter sand and injure thin or delicate plants.
