• Complex Rockwork

  Requires an environment filled with rocks and tight caves. They are cave-dwellers that spend most of their time hugging rocky surfaces, even swimming upside down to follow cave contours.

• Hard Alkaline Water

  Native to Lake Tanganyika; requires a high pH and hard water. Stability is key, as they are sensitive to sudden parameter shifts.

• Territorial Pair Bonding

  Forms strong pair bonds. Once a pair is established, they become extremely aggressive toward other Julidochromis and may predate on the fry of other species.
