Special requirements

• Mature Aquarium

  Highly sensitive to fluctuating organic wastes. It must never be introduced to a biologically immature aquarium.

• Blackwater Conditions

  Thrives in soft, acidic water with dim lighting and dried leaf litter. For breeding, negligible carbonate hardness is required.

• Careful Tankmate Selection

  Due to its tiny size and specialized requirements, it is not an ideal standard community fish. Best kept in a species-only setup or with other diminutive, quiet species.
