Special requirements

• Soft Acidic Breeding Conditions

  While adults are relatively adaptable, very soft, acidic water with negligible carbonate hardness is mandatory for eggs to develop properly.

• Mature Aquarium

  Extremely sensitive to fluctuating organic wastes. Should only be introduced to biologically mature, long-established systems.

• Leaf Litter & Caves

  A natural-style setup with soft sand, driftwood, and dried leaf litter is ideal for providing security, tannins, and secondary food sources for fry.
