Special requirements

• Labyrinth Organ

  Requires access to the water surface to breathe atmospheric air. Avoid tight-fitting lids without an air gap.

• Territoriality

  Males are highly territorial; should be housed alone or with very specific, non-aggressive tank mates in larger setups.

• Soft Flow

  While Plakats have shorter fins and are better swimmers than long-finned varieties, they still prefer low-flow filtration.
