• Dorsal Fin Development

  Adequate swimming room is essential for males; the characteristic tall dorsal fin will fail to develop properly in cramped conditions.

• Salinity Versatility

  Highly adaptable to varying salt levels; can be maintained in freshwater or full saltwater through gradual acclimation.

• Breeding and Fry Protection

  As livebearers, they produce young every 60–70 days. Dense planting or floating vegetation is required to provide cover for fry from adult predation.
