Special requirements

• Solitary Male Housing

  Despite the listed peaceful temperament, only one male should be kept per aquarium to prevent territorial aggression inherent to the species.

• Labyrinth Organ

  Requires direct access to the water surface to breathe atmospheric oxygen. Ensure there is an air gap at the top of the tank.

• Low Flow Environment

  Naturally prefers slow-moving or standing water; avoid high-output filtration and provide plenty of plant cover.
