Stable Water Parameters
This species is highly sensitive to abrupt changes in water parameters and chemicals. Nitrate levels must be kept strictly below 25mg/L with regular 20-30% monthly water changes.
Slow Flow & Sand Substrate
Native to slow-moving and stagnant waters. An aquarium with very gentle filtration flow and a sandy substrate is recommended to mimic their natural biotope.
Hybridization Risk
It is strongly advised not to mix them with other species of the Laetacara genus to avoid the risk of cross-breeding/hybridization.
