Special requirements

• Group Living

  Should be kept in groups of at least 4–6 individuals to promote natural schooling behavior and reduce stress.

• Soft Sandy Substrate

  Fine sand is strongly recommended to protect sensitive barbels during feeding.

• Clean Stable Water

  Requires stable, well-maintained water conditions and should not be introduced to immature aquariums.

• Natural Cover

  Prefers environments with leaf litter, plants, or driftwood to replicate natural habitat and provide shelter.

• Varied Diet

  Needs a balanced diet of sinking pellets along with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and Tubifex.

• Spawning Trigger

  Breeding can be stimulated by cooler water changes and providing leaf litter for egg deposition.
