  Females are entirely blue, while males feature a distinctive orange tail, leading to names like Orangetail Blue Damselfish or Blue Devil Damselfish.

• Stress Camouflage

  Exhibits a unique ability to darken to an almost black color within seconds when threatened, returning to electric blue once the threat passes.

• Territorial Maturation

  As the fish matures, it may demonstrate pronounced territorial behavior toward new additions; providing multiple hiding places can help mitigate aggression.

• Paternal Parental Care

  During breeding, males are responsible for guarding and aerating demersal eggs that adhere to the substrate until they hatch.
