• Salinity Adaptability

  Exhibits high adaptability to salt levels; can be transitioned from freshwater to full saltwater with gradual acclimation. Salt is often recommended in freshwater setups for health.

• High Waste Output

  Due to a hearty appetite and active metabolism, a high-capacity filtration system is essential to manage bioload and waste products.

• Planted Environment

  Prefers a well-established tank with dense vegetation (Java Fern, Sagittaria) and potentially a thick algae mat for grazing.

• Breeding Behavior

  As livebearers, they produce young every 60-70 days. Floating plants or a separate breeding tank are necessary to protect fry from adults.
