Special requirements

• Visual Barriers

  Provide plenty of cover and break lines of sight at the bottom. Males can be persistent during courtship, and females need dark caves to feel secure and spawn.

• Targeted Feeding

  Slow, deliberate feeders that may be outcompeted by fast-swimming tankmates. Use sinking pellets or target-feed to ensure they receive adequate nutrition.

• Stable Water Conditions

  Avoid very large water changes. 10-15% weekly is recommended to maintain stability, especially in smaller setups.
